A Team Approach to Investing: Inside Our Investment Committee

At Linscomb Wealth, we believe better decisions come from collaboration, not isolation. In an increasingly complex and fast-moving financial world, relying on a single perspective simply isn’t enough. That’s why we’ve built our entire process around an in-house, committee-driven approach, bringing together experienced professionals to evaluate ideas, challenge assumptions, and ultimately make more informed decisions on behalf of our clients.

You may already see this philosophy at work in how we structure financial plans, evaluate strategies, and even run the assumptions behind our Monte Carlo simulations. But today, we’d like to take you behind the scenes of one of the most important groups guiding your portfolio: our Investment Committee.

Why a Committee Approach Matters

Markets are dynamic. Economic conditions shift. Opportunities, and risks, can emerge quickly.

By leveraging a team of experts rather than a single decision maker, we are able to:

  • Evaluate multiple perspectives before taking action
  • Stress-test ideas across different market scenarios
  • Reduce bias and emotional decision-making
  • Maintain consistency and discipline over time

This collaborative structure is central to how we serve you, not just in investments, but across every aspect of our wealth management process.

Committee Membership

Our Investment Committee is composed of seven voting members, each bringing deep experience and institutional knowledge to the table. These are long-tenured professionals who understand both the markets and, importantly, our clients. Collectively, the committee represents nearly 200 years of combined experience across a wide range of market cycles and economic environments, with the majority of members having worked together for over a decade.

The consistency of this group is a key strength. Except for one recent addition, who became a voting member this year following a retirement, our committee has worked together for many years, developing a strong, cohesive decision-making process grounded in trust and accountability.

Our Purpose

The Investment Committee’s core mission is straightforward yet critical:

To oversee the firm’s investment management offering and its execution, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards, firm policies, and best practices in risk management.

In other words, this group is responsible for ensuring that every investment decision made on your behalf is thoughtful, disciplined, in your best interest and aligned with your long-term goals.

What the Investment Committee Actually Does

Behind the scenes, this team is constantly working to ensure each portfolio is aligned, optimized, and carefully monitored.

Their responsibilities include:

  • Guiding our overall investment philosophy and strategy
  • Conducting in-depth research and selecting investments
  • Monitoring performance over time, not just in the moment
  • Ensuring every portfolio aligns with each client’s Investment Policy Statement (IPS)
  • Evaluating risk and making adjustments when needed
  • Overseeing trade execution and portfolio activity
  • Enhancing the technology and tools we use to manage investments
  • Providing timely market insights and economic updates

Our In-House Investment Approach

Our Investment Committee works in close partnership with our team of Wealth Advisors, who bring a deep understanding of each client relationship. This collaboration allows us to deliver highly personalized portfolio strategies that reflect each client’s unique goals and circumstances. Because we manage this process in-house, we maintain full alignment between investment decisions and client needs, without relying on outsourced models or third-party discretion.

By working together, our teams can tailor portfolios with precision, whether addressing one-time liquidity needs, navigating complex tax considerations, or thoughtfully managing and diversifying concentrated positions to reduce risk over time. This integrated approach ensures that every investment decision is intentional, coordinated, and aligned with the broader financial plan.

What This Means for You

At the end of the day, this isn’t just about process, it’s about outcomes.

Our committee-driven approach is designed to give you:

  • More thoughtful decision-making
  • Greater consistency over time
  • A disciplined, research-backed strategy
  • Confidence that multiple experts are looking out for you
  • In-house management allows us to customize portfolios for specific client needs
